Le Norv\u00e9gien Sander Skotheim a remport\u00e9 samedi soir la m\u00e9daille d’or de l’heptathlon aux championnats d’Europe d’athl\u00e9tisme en salle \u00e0 Apeldoorn (Pays-Bas), en battant son propre record continental \u00e9tabli le mois dernier. A 22 ans, Skotheim s’est impos\u00e9 avec un total de 6.558 points, sur le fil apr\u00e8s la derni\u00e8re \u00e9preuve du 1.000 m gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un formidable chrono (2’32″72), meilleure performance personnelle.
Il devient le troisi\u00e8me meilleur performeur de l’histoire, derri\u00e8re les Am\u00e9ricains Ashton Eaton (6.645) et Kyle Garland (6.639). Skotheim devance le Suisse Simon Ehammer, champion du monde de l’heptathlon aux Mondiaux en salle \u00e0 Glasgow l’an dernier, deuxi\u00e8me avec 6.505 points. L’Allemand Till Steinforth compl\u00e8te le podium (6.388 points).
Simon Ehammer avait pourtant pris les devants de la comp\u00e9tition apr\u00e8s la deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9preuve vendredi, le saut en longueur, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un impressionnant bond \u00e0 8,20 m, lui offrant 1.112 points. Skotheim avait rattrap\u00e9 une partie de son retard gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un bond \u00e0 2,19 m lors du saut en hauteur, contre 1,98 m pour Ehammer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
